About us

Since its establishment, Fundación Rescate Verde has taken on an active and leading role in the protection of vulnerable ecosystems, the advocacy and influence of public policy, and active participation in conservation systems of great national relevance — both in the southern region of Costa Rica and in areas such as the Guanacaste and Tempisque Conservation Areas. The Foundation has also provided technical guidance to business and project developers, while supporting local communities in processes related to environmental sustainability and the responsible use of natural resources.

Currently, the Foundation works both nationally and internationally on the development of concrete environmental restoration initiatives aimed at reversing the effects of climate change and the degradation of ecosystems, as well as the social and territorial structures that sustain them. It operates with a vision focused on achieving meaningful national and international impact to improve the quality of life for many people.
Rescate Verde is recognized as a leading promoter of social and business development, environmental awareness, and harmony between people and nature. Its mission involves proposing, supporting, and advancing programs and projects that foster sustainable development, while also strengthening the sociocultural identities of communities and promoting principles such as transparency, equity, and social responsibility. The values guiding its work — including empathy, cooperation, resilience, integrity, and sustainability — are fundamental pillars of its institutional identity.
In addition, the Foundation emphasizes the promotion of applied research, policy dialogue, and private sector engagement, alongside the implementation of projects centered on sustainable development. Its strategies include organizing community workshops on responsible economies and organic agriculture to support the growth of socially responsible businesses and communities, encouraging local consumption, introducing innovative waste management models, and strengthening both communication and institutional capacities. Together, these actions reflect a firm commitment to the regeneration of environmental systems and the advancement of human development in Costa Rica and beyond. (read more)
