The promotion of the circular economy as a basis for business ventures is a modern and necessary topic, however, there are two essential approaches to attend as a priority, transformation for existing companies and implementation for new ones. For this reason, the Foundation has established training and advice in this field as a priority project, adding some adjustment elements in the "transformable with zero residue" nature of the inputs of each production model.

One of the most frequent problems in the agricultural sector is the integration of markets into efficient work models. In this sense, the Fundación Rescate Verde is coordinating with the productive sectors of the canton of Carrillo, Guanacaste province, the development of a marketing model for its products under a digital platform.

Guanacaste.org has been conceptualized as a platform for the social and economic development of the province of Guanacaste and, despite being totally inclusive, its priority is the development of employment and the structuring of productive projects for women and youth. Likewise, it will focus on an educational component as a catalyst for human development.

Promotion of Circular Economy models in SMEs

One of the most important projects is to be able to support small producers who, despite their investment limitations, assume commitments and responsibilities with the environment. Café 24k is a brand at the service of small coffee growers in Costa Rica who are in the Environmental Commitments program. This is accomplished in conjunction with several partner companies and committed citizens of the United States.

Creation of the Center for Sustainable Development

Development of productive projects led by women and youth

This project was designed several years ago and is currently in process. It consists of the creation of an environmental center that is based on the three new axes, 1. Conservation/protection, 2. Implementation of technologies, and 3. Participation and leadership of women and youth. The facilities will be located in Belén de Carrillo, province of Guanacaste, and will have accommodation areas, virtual and face-to-face training, as well as spaces for the development of research.

Many times there is talk of integral development, dignity and greater participation of women. The problem is that most of the time, after excellent studies that support the results, the procedure to make it happen is not as successful as the studies that support them. For this reason, it is a priority of the Foundation, to carry out family projects, of women responsible for their home; in such a way that under direct results, creating work and development structures, is the means of achieving the objectives.

ASSOCIATION ARENEROS VALLE DEL TEMPISQUE, Carrillo, Guanacaste

INTEGRATION OF FARMS TO PROTECTED FOREST, Golfito, Puntarenas

For many years the artisan sandboxes of the Tempisque River carried out their activities outside the law. Through joint work of the Board of the Association, officials of the Ministry of the Environment, and the legal team of the Fundación Rescate Verde, the legal concessions for the artisanal extraction of sand on the banks of the Tempisque River were processed.

The project consisted in the integration, definition and inclusion of farms with a forestry vocation, located in the district of Río Claro, Golfito; as a declared Protective Forest area, aimed at the conservation and protection of water resources and biodiversity. Project carried out by the Founders in conjunction with the Ministry of Environment and Energy.

NIMBOYORES AQUIFER STUDY, Santa Cruz, Guanacaste

With the formation of the Papagayo Tourist Pole, many lands were concessioned for hotel developments. With the support of business sectors in the area, and the intense work of the residents of the Guardia district, the Fundación Rescate Verde achieved the consolidation of the Iguanita Beach Refuge. For this, it was possible to locate the landmarks, build the security booth and that the Guanacaste Conservation Area took possession of the place.

STRENGTHENING THE RESPONSIBILITY OF AYA IN THE SUPPLY OF DRINKING WATER

REGULATORY PLAN FOR PLAYA CAÑAZA, Golfito, Puntarenas

For many years, the Costa Rican Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (AYA), the governing body of water resources in Costa Rica, saw its scope diminished since it could not act legally, since the legislation exempted it from liability for water quality. Through an action of unconstitutionality, presented in the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice, it was possible to eliminate, by vote of that instance, the existing legal obstacles.
